Cub Scouts take on Jade Signature

On Monday, February 27^th, Jade Signature received an exciting visit from the “Den 5, Pack 341 WEBELOS (We’ll Be Loyal Scouts) of Weston. The four Scouts and their fathers suited up with the proper PPE and Brian Forte, Jade Signature’s very own Eagle Scout and assistant project manager, led the group to the site. The scouts got a full tour starting at Garage minus 3 (G-3) and went all the way to the roof. The boys saw how decks are formed, properly reinforced, and even got to see a concrete pour. They helped take some measurements and checked work too! Lance Dengerud, one of Jade’s senior project managers, also showed the Scouts how the Jade Team uses 3D virtual reality to solve issues on the project. This visit was a stepping stone for the Cub Scouts to receive their Engineering Pin.

Virtual Reality to the Rescue!

The Jade Signature team continues to push the edge of technology with Autodesk Live and immersive Virtual Reality. The project is the first in the company to use VIVE immersive Virtual Reality as a tool to communicate complex construction stage issues to owners and stakeholders. Suffolk Senior Project Manager Lance Dengerud reflected on the experience as “We received a tepid reaction when first exploring the idea; however, this reception quickly changed to excitement after we demonstrated how complex project issues can be quickly evaluated and resolved with the aid of Augmented and Virtual Reality. The VR environment created by Autodesk Live sources the exact Revit files the project Architect uses to create the contract documents, hence an owner or stakeholder can be placed into a data rich environment to make relevant informed decisions with confidence. This technology is truly an evolutionary step forward in bettering the workflow between Owners, Architects and Construction Managers.

The project executive leadership continues to leverage new technologies to keep the complex Jade Signature project on schedule and within budget.

Italian Thanksgiving

This year, Suffolk's Jade Signature team, along with neighbors from the Ritz Carlton project, opted out of the traditional Thanksgiving meal, and instead, joined together for an Italian feast at a restaurant near the project site. They were also joined by Fortune Group to celebrate the luncheon. Since Jade Signature's top off, work is well underway within the 61-story condominium. The project is scheduled for completion in late 2017.

Jade Signature Gets Topped Off!

A little over three years and the wait is finally over - the Jade Signature has been topped off which means the structural support and frame for the condominium has been finished and the interior process can now begin. Jade Signature will be the largest condominium in Sunny Isles Beach standing 57 stories tall and soon becoming home to 192 residents. To celebrate this milestone, Suffolk and Fortune International Group threw a topping off party to reward everyone who’s worked on the project so far. The party took place on October 21^st in Jade’s three story underground parking garage - the first of its kind being only 40 feet from the coastline. The party was held at lunchtime where over 500 trade partners could eat, win raffle prizes, and then take the rest of the day off to reinforce the milestone they have all worked so hard to reach.
